On 18th April, Jointly organized by 3rd Beijing International Film Festival organizing committee and BFA,film screening of famous Russian director Nikita Mikhalkov was held in Beijing Film Academy. Visiting guests include the president of the Third Beijing International Film Festival “Heaven Temple Prize” international judging panel Nikita Mikhalkov and his wife Tatiana Mikhalkva, Representative of Russian Embassy TAO Miheng, Vice Secretary in chief of the Third Beijing International Film Festival organizing committee HONG Bing, Cultural Counselor of Russian Embassy Lebedev, Vice Dean of office of organizing committee of the Third Beijing International Film Festival, Chairman of World Film Institution of China HU Rong. They are warmly received by President of Beijing Film Academy ZHANG Huijun，Department of Directing Professor XIE Fei and Department of Film Studies HE Hongying.
Nikita Mikhalkov has directed a series of works which have achieved international success. He won the Oscars, Best Performance Awards of Cannes International Film Festival and Golden Lion of Vince Film Festival and other international awards. His works embodies the characteristics of Russia and strategically combines commercial, art and cultural elements together.
After screening two works of Mikhalkov Burnt by the sun 2 Exodus and Burnt by the sun 3 The Citade, Nikita Mikhalkov came to the theater of BFA and discussed with the teachers and students of BFA on his concepts of film. Mikhalkov said that he regards China as a great country. He said this country has made impressive achievements in recent years and he hopes China will have to spread its culture.
Academic committee of BFA decided to grant Director Nikita Mikhalkov the visiting professor of Beijing Film Academy. President of Beijing Film Academy ZHANG Huijun presented the award to him.
On behalf of the Third Beijing International Film Festival organizing committee, HONG Bing extended his congratulations to Director Nikita Mikhalkov for the film screening. He also expressed his gratitude to the Russian Embassy, Beijing Film Academy and many experts of film industry. This activity allowed students of BFA to have a better understanding of Russian film and culture. Director Nikita Mikhalkov made contribution for cultural exchanging between China and Russia.
